Madera County Sheriff Detectives Arrest Suspect in Burglaries of Evacuated Homes

An arrest has been made in relation to burglaries that occurred in Cascadel Woods after homes were evacuated due to the Willow Fire which scorched nearly 6,000 acres in North Fork. While the blaze is nearly contained, the criminal investigation into several homes that were burglarized has been picking up steam with its first arrest.

Madera County Sheriff Detectives made the announcement today that 19-year-old Alexander Matthew James was arrested after attempting to sell a couple of items that were taken during the burglaries.

Among the items that were attempted to be sold were a Sony PlayStation 3 console and games as well as a Buck Knife.

Alexander Matthew James, 19,  was arrested after he tried to sell some of the items that were stolen during the burglaries.

James was booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections and charged multiple charges of possession of stolen property.

The investigation of the burglaries are ongoing and the Sheriff’s Office believes that there will be additional arrests in the near future.
